What visual memories do I keep from my 8 years in the US?
I lived 8 years in Charlotte North Carolina, before moving back to Paris. I visited 21 states including Hawaii, explored the west side of North Carolina
quite extensively by hiking hundreds of miles on many trails, photographing waterfalls, made Doughton Park my main astronomy observatory. I visited many
places out West: the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Yellowstone, Saguaro National Monument, Kitt Peak, the VLA, New
Mexico Skies. I went to lots of cities including New York, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Washington, Atlanta, Tampa.
From all those places that I have seen just once or seen every month, each of them left me with a special memory - a typical snapshot, a taste, a smell, a
sensation or a memorable story to tell. I have selected 73 pictures, most of them are not already in the pages of this web site, which for me are typical
of all those places. Because of that they bring something special to me that I remember of that place, and that's what I am telling here in the next pages.
