This picture is taken on Central Avenue, on the bridge over Independance Boulevard. The top of the Bank of America building is lit with blue color to
celebrate the previous season of the Panthers who went all the way to the Super Bowl and lost it to New England on a very small margin.
I lived in Charlotte from September 2001 to May 2009 and Charlotte is a very special city to me as it's the only city I have lived in the US. It welcomed
me on many levels and helped me express myself to the fullest. Charlotte for me is the best place to live, in the middle of the forest, close to the
mountains, close also to the ocean. It is not too far east so it avoids most of the hurricanes coming from the Atlantic. It is not too far west so it avoids
all the tornadoes of the Middle-West. It is not too far south so it's hot but not too unbearably hot. It is not too far north so the winters are mild
without almost any snow.
The city is big enough to have a NFL team, a NASCAR track, a NBA team and some minor league baseball and hockey teams. One can walk through downtown in
just 20 minutes. It is small enough so that one doesn't feel lost in the buildings, streets or traffic jams. It is big enough to have a few nice skyscrapers
hosting some of the nation's biggest banks.
