Zion, Utah, Monday May 23rd 2005.

Zion is very colorful. The main canyon, where the Virgin river flows, is oriented North-South. There is an East entrance with a road winding around conic rock formation. The picture is taken there, showing that the pavement is even as red as the stones in order to fit in.

Zion National Park is in Utah, North-East of Las Vegas and three hours away from it. The Virgin river made its way through red cliffs of sandstone, and vegetation is growing along the river. The valley get narrower though North, to a point where the river flows between the two cliffs and there is no room for something else, in a canyon called the Narrows.
