Canyonlands, Utah, Wednesday May 18th to Saturday May 21st 2005.

The park is big, enormous, large, and looks flat or horizontal when it has high cliffs. Two rivers flow through it, the Colorado and the Green River. In the distance, the LaSal mountains are visible from mostly any place in the park, next to very diverse rock formations.

Canyonlands is huge, gigantic. The Green river flows from the North, joins the Colorado and they flow into Lake Powell. The park is divided into three districts separated by the rivers, the Maze to the West, the Needles to the East and the Island in the Sky to the North.
The Maze is the least visited part of the park, and is the most remote one. The two others are great and display different attractions, but you need to choose which one to visit for a day : even though they are quite close on a map, you need to drive more than 80 miles to go from one to the other.
